To fasten, simply insert adapter into the coupler and close the handles to lock. Once the locking mechanism is engaged, the complete seal in the cam lock fitting creates a non-leaking bond between the coupler and adapter. To uncouple, just lift the cam arms to release the lock, and remove the adapter.
